Charm The Dog.
Humans are weird.
Anyway - I shoot, I guess? Are there targets? BR 13 and 14, for two hits, for 5 and 4 points of damage.
Did the twins have a spellbook? I spend my retconned half-hour searching the bodies. If not - my vote is to take this place apart until we find their spellbook. I THIRST for it.

Theo, okay, you hurt the Dustman some more. He's still up. Are you guys fleeing or what?

The Dustmen look
mostly human. They don't seem to be undead- they definitely bleed and die, there's a little pile of them right here, starting to stink. They're just abnormally tall, thin, and pale, with oversized heads, eyes, and hands. They all look pretty similar though- not a lot of strain variability, here.
...
What's retarded is that blogger's spellchecker doesn't recognize the words 'spellchecker' or 'weblog'.

Since the last dustman is taking so long, I'll assume he either surrenders or commits hari kari.
I want to examine the dustmen...are they actually people? Or are they undead or some sort of construct?
I say we get the hell out of here so I can repair the spider bot and we can rest up. There are lots of dustmen here, and I'm not sure what we are doing here anyway.
Rob--Can I make a LV 3 Animal Friends to try and charm the dog? I'm just curious as to its stats, etc.

Az, some bonuses are definitely in order for you. A bless spell? Weapon spec? Your Dustman disengages to take on the archers.
+2 hp though, so, you know.
Dag and Thak, you two finish off Dag's Dustman in the third round. Nice going.
Theo, the last Dustman rushes you.

KT, huh. So... if you're casting Shillelagh, then you somehow know a fight's about to happen. Unless you cast it when the Dustmen arrive, in which case you're spending the first two combat rounds prepping. When I said you had 30 min to prepare, it's not like there was a little timer counting down until Dustmen arrived. That was mainly for clerics to burn cure spells before trying to rememorize them.
I'm going to nix the Shillelagh-ing, unless you really want to do it instead of rolling to attack for two rounds.

Well, hot damn, I retroactively cast Shillelagh on Dag's main battle staff, and Thak's flail before combat starts. I think that makes them count as +1 weapons for To Hit and Dmg? I sent them up the bomb, indeed.
What happen? Main screen turn on. "How are you gentledustmen?" More Dustmen, Rounds 1 And 2
Think about it this way: more combat, more danger, equals more xp. There may be no I in team, but there is xp in ruxpin.
Anyway, the dustmen go for the three melee people: Dag, Az, and Thak. What are you guys, like cavemen or something?
Dag, hit for 3, Az, hit for 4, Thak miss.
Nice dmg guys- in round 2, Dag finishes off DM 1.
Round 2 dmg: Thak, double damage for 10. Yikes.
Also, you guys did have 30 min before, so if you wanna cast any spells, eat goodberries, or if anyone has Healing NWP, go ahead and do it.

Let's Not Get Storylined/Killed And Say We Did
Sorry Theo. Upstairs, it ends in a door. If you open that door, you are in the Dustmen dormitories, surrounded by like thirty dustmen doin their things. That's why I said- as posted below- you might have heard footsteps and voices, coming and going. If you'd've made checks, which I think you may have missed.
So let's not and say we did.
So. How does that change things? Doesn't, does it?

Fell Asleep On The Job
Well, you guys snuck into their basement and killed some of their dudes.
Then you take a nap?
It's only natural that three more Dustmen show up on first watch. They're probably wondering where their pals went or something. No weird twins or axebeaks though. They come down the stairs. Whoever's on first watch has enough time to wake everyone else, then we're in the thick of it.
Go ahead and post combat actions, fellows. No, you don't have hp or spells back, because only 30 minutes or so went by.

Combat Over... But Where Is The Crown?
Yeah, the Axebeak is cool if you're cool. I mean, this ain't really his fight. He's got some work to do. You know? Redoing the bathroom. Damn toilet sprung a leak cause the kids keep flushing god knows what down it. Actually he's supposed to be waiting for the plumber right now. He's only around for 6 rounds from the MS2 anyway.
He looks at his watch. Tut, okay, you grab the shuriken wand.
The Axebeak disappears.
...
With that all out of the way, you proceed into the Dustmen's compound.
...
The corridor goes about ten feet. It's made from really nice marble. There are stairs that go up, into the darkness. Under the stairs, right at your level, is a big door, marked with another asterisk. You hear the sounds of scraping, some metallic sounds coming from behind it. If you listen at the door and make your check (half WIS or something), you hear faint voices and footsteps.
There are some strange runes or hieroglyphs carved into a bronze plaque next to the door.
Up the stairs?
Through the door?
Fuck this and go, Axebeak style?

Words And Things
Dag, if you read the post, it does in fact say:
"The boy is still invisible, since he hasn't yet attacked. He drops a Monster Summoning II, bringing in an axebeak! Still invisible."
...
But here's more of the same post, with a significant portion put now in bold:
"The boy is still invisible, since he hasn't yet attacked. He drops a Monster Summoning II, bringing in an axebeak! Still invisible. Thaka and Thren miss some- more than they think- meaning they hit less than they think.
But they still do an awful lot of damage when they do hit, so the boy goes down, but not before a couple more rounds of attacks get made.
Thaka, axebeak kicks you twice, missing with a pair of deuces. You get magic missiled for 7
right before you & Thren tag-team the boy wonder and decimate him."
...
Sorry, just to be totally clear:
'going down' and 'decimate' equals death. Both twins are dead.

Big Combat: Lone Axebeak Saves The Day?
Er, Dag? The boy twin is already dead. By 'Dustman' I've been referring to the two tall guards carrying straightrazors. I'll put those rolls towards the Dustman guard who's left. Him and the axebeak.
Combined, Thaka, Dag, and KT do enough to drop the Dustman in round 6.
Axebeak in round 7 fails to impress. Dag, there's a critical fumble on you and a miss.

Nope Thren, you dropped a hp from round 2 to round 3 since no one bandaged you or did anything. In the posted round hps, I didn't deduct- partially I forgot, partially I was waiting to see if/when you'd be cured. It happened in round 3, at which point you were actually at -3 hp.

Big Combat Round 2 Update, And Into Round 3
Tut, you know how combat goes. Slowly. It's not an easy problem to solve, or necessarily soluble: one player posts a lot, multiple combat rounds. Another person posts once a week. The rat fight worked so well because it was essentially six independent combats. This ain't.
There've been times when a single combat took a couple weeks. Hopefully this won't be that.
