I'm posted up through round 5.
hit ac 5 and -2 with my longsword for 3 and 7. flail hit ac 8 for 4.
Charm the dog? Is that some sort of human slang that I'm unaware of? Probably. 'Later tonight me and the boys are gonna get drunk, head over to the eagle, and just Charm The Dog
Humans are weird.
Anyway - I shoot, I guess? Are there targets? BR 13 and 14, for two hits, for 5 and 4 points of damage.
Did the twins have a spellbook? I spend my retconned half-hour searching the bodies. If not - my vote is to take this place apart until we find their spellbook. I THIRST for it.
Labels: charm the dog, humans are weird, thirst for it
Hell no I'm not fleeing.
BR 16 hit for 7 pts.
BR 20(!) hit for 3x2 = 6 pts (I should have rolled the 1 off).
Ruling on LV 3 Animal Friends spell to charm the dog?
The Logo Emphasizes The Relative Importance Of Bald Eagles And Castles To Our Viewers
Awesome logo Mark, definitely bring that shit on line.
The last Dustman is actually taking less time to post than other members of your party, KT. In fact, here he goes, right now:
Dmg 3+2 = 5
Theo, okay, you hurt the Dustman some more. He's still up. Are you guys fleeing or what?
The Dustmen look mostly
human. They don't seem to be undead- they definitely bleed and die, there's a little pile of them right here, starting to stink. They're just abnormally tall, thin, and pale, with oversized heads, eyes, and hands. They all look pretty similar though- not a lot of strain variability, here.
What's retarded is that blogger's spellchecker doesn't recognize the words 'spellchecker' or 'weblog'.
Labels: eagles vs castles, retarded spellchecking
Since the last dustman is taking so long, I'll assume he either surrenders or commits hari kari.
I want to examine the dustmen...are they actually people? Or are they undead or some sort of construct?
I say we get the hell out of here so I can repair the spider bot and we can rest up. There are lots of dustmen here, and I'm not sure what we are doing here anyway.
Rob--Can I make a LV 3 Animal Friends to try and charm the dog? I'm just curious as to its stats, etc.

I spend my round dancing and striking poses...vogueing if you will.
Wow, the bleeding stopped?!
I eat my last Goodberry.
And shoot the last Dustman! BRs:9,14. A hit for 4. Ha!
round 4 hit ac 3 and hit ac 8 for 9 and 4.
round 5 hit ac 4 for 7 and then fumble, let's hope he's dead.
New Dustman Combat, End Of Round 4
Az, some bonuses are definitely in order for you. A bless spell? Weapon spec? Your Dustman disengages to take on the archers.
+2 hp though, so, you know.
Dag and Thak, you two finish off Dag's Dustman in the third round. Nice going.
Theo, the last Dustman rushes you. Slashes open your jugular
for 4 hp.
Into round 4, Dag does some damage. Dustman misses you Theo with a BR:4.
That's me through Round 4 guys.
I retrocure myself for BR 2 points. Woot?
Then I get to spearin'.
BR 9 for 3.
BR 12 for 2.
BR 10 for 2.
Those are all at -1, of course.

KT, huh. So... if you're casting Shillelagh, then you somehow know a fight's about to happen. Unless you cast it when the Dustmen arrive, in which case you're spending the first two combat rounds prepping. When I said you had 30 min to prepare, it's not like there was a little timer counting down until Dustmen arrived. That was mainly for clerics to burn cure spells before trying to rememorize them.
I'm going to nix the Shillelagh-ing, unless you really want to do it instead of rolling to attack for two rounds.
Dustmen are AC:7.
Labels: rumble in the dustmen jungle, shillelagh
WHAT YOU SAY?!!!
I shoot another DM (heh), BRs:14,3. AC:6 for 3.
I then move every Zig for Great Justice.
Well, hot damn, I retroactively cast Shillelagh on Dag's main battle staff, and Thak's flail before combat starts. I think that makes them count as +1 weapons for To Hit and Dmg? I sent them up the bomb, indeed. What happen? Main screen turn on. "How are you gentledustmen?" You have no chance to survive, make your time.Given the close proximity to the dustman dormitory, I retract my earlier yelling and instead I silently mouth that phrase. Dustmen can probably read lips.Rd3 bow:Br 12 hits AC 2 for 4ptsBR 13 hits AC 3 for 5 ptsRd 4 bow:BR 3 missesBR 17 hits for 4 pts.BTW, I really appreciate the running HP update, as a healer it helps (healps?) a lot.
More Dustmen, Rounds 1 And 2
Think about it this way: more combat, more danger, equals more xp. There may be no I in team, but there is xp in ruxpin.
Anyway, the dustmen go for the three melee people: Dag, Az, and Thak. What are you guys, like cavemen or something?
Dag, hit for 3, Az, hit for 4, Thak miss.
Nice dmg guys- in round 2, Dag finishes off DM 1.
Round 2 dmg: Thak, double damage for 10. Yikes.
Also, you guys did have 30 min before, so if you wanna cast any spells, eat goodberries, or if anyone has Healing NWP, go ahead and do it.
Go for rounds 1-4 people.
Labels: danger, dustmen, ruxpin, xp
I shoot a Dustman, BRs:20,2. One big hit for 8.
I SENT THEM UP THE BOMB!!!!
Labels: Double damage
Let's Not Get Storylined/Killed And Say We Did
Sorry Theo. Upstairs, it ends in a door. If you open that door, you are in the Dustmen dormitories, surrounded by like thirty dustmen doin their things. That's why I said- as posted below- you might have heard footsteps and voices, coming and going. If you'd've made checks, which I think you may have missed.
So let's not and say we did.
So. How does that change things? Doesn't, does it?

Dear DM, I respectfully ask you read my posts to the DiD blog more carefully.
I believe you missed this statement in my last post: "I Move Silently up the stairs looking with my infravision, BR:18. Yes! Anything?"
This was done before the nap.

Obviously, I yell "IM IN UR BASE KILLIN UR MENZ"
BR 17 is a hit for 6 pts.
BR 12 hits AC 8 for 8 pts
BR 11... damn
BR 15 hits AC 4 for 4 (BR2 +2)
BR 17 hits AC2 for for 7 (BR5 +2)
Fell Asleep On The Job
Well, you guys snuck into their basement and killed some of their dudes.
Then you take a nap?
It's only natural that three more Dustmen show up on first watch. They're probably wondering where their pals went or something. No weird twins or axebeaks though. They come down the stairs. Whoever's on first watch has enough time to wake everyone else, then we're in the thick of it.
Go ahead and post combat actions, fellows. No, you don't have hp or spells back, because only 30 minutes or so went by.
Labels: dustmen, first watch, zero axebeaks

D6 yields a 2. I missed my half wisdom check.
BR 2 (d6) Wis check 9 (out of 17).
Are we rested back to full?
d6 is a one.
Maybe someone should don the Dustman outfits....
I take a straightrazor. I always like those things.
shit I would hope the 32 points of damage I did in round 6 to the dustman was enough to drop him all on my own. Don't steal my kills guys it's rude.
Labels: kill stealing is immoral
Okay, everyone who reads this by tomorrow morning, post in, roll a d6, and tell me what you get.
I Hear Noise at that door and try to make out what the voices are saying.
It's what I do, BR:29. No?! I HAVE 20% HEAR NOISE?! THAT'S AFTER MY +10% 'GNOME' BONUS!!!! WTF?!
I say we rest here. I am sick of fighting through rats.
I Move Silently up the stairs looking with my infravision, BR:18. Yes!
Labels: thieves suck
I think we need to go rest up. I think 2 lv 2 archers could take out our party right now. No spiderbot, no cure spells (or charm or hold) left, no goodberries...
Combat Over... But Where Is The Crown?
Yeah, the Axebeak is cool if you're cool. I mean, this ain't really his fight. He's got some work to do. You know? Redoing the bathroom. Damn toilet sprung a leak cause the kids keep flushing god knows what down it. Actually he's supposed to be waiting for the plumber right now. He's only around for 6 rounds from the MS2 anyway.
He looks at his watch. Tut, okay, you grab the shuriken wand.
The Axebeak disappears.
With that all out of the way, you proceed into the Dustmen's compound.
The corridor goes about ten feet. It's made from really nice marble. There are stairs that go up, into the darkness. Under the stairs, right at your level, is a big door, marked with another asterisk. You hear the sounds of scraping, some metallic sounds coming from behind it. If you listen at the door and make your check (half WIS or something), you hear faint voices and footsteps.
There are some strange runes or hieroglyphs carved into a bronze plaque next to the door.
Up the stairs?
Through the door?
Fuck this and go, Axebeak style?

Words And Things
Dag, if you read the post, it does in fact say:
"The boy is still invisible, since he hasn't yet attacked. He drops a Monster Summoning II, bringing in an axebeak! Still invisible."
But here's more of the same post, with a significant portion put now in bold:
"The boy is still invisible, since he hasn't yet attacked. He drops a Monster Summoning II, bringing in an axebeak! Still invisible. Thaka and Thren miss some- more than they think- meaning they hit less than they think. But they still do an awful lot of damage when they do hit, so the boy goes down
, but not before a couple more rounds of attacks get made.
Thaka, axebeak kicks you twice, missing with a pair of deuces. You get magic missiled for 7 right before you & Thren tag-team the boy wonder and decimate him
Sorry, just to be totally clear:
'going down' and 'decimate' equals death. Both twins are dead.

Swish and a swish on the CF. (BR 5 & 7)
Rob, your last post
"The boy is still invisible, since he hasn't yet attacked. He drops a Monster Summoning II, bringing in an axebeak! Still invisible."
I get confused too easily...
Big Combat: Lone Axebeak Saves The Day?
Er, Dag? The boy twin is already dead. By 'Dustman' I've been referring to the two tall guards carrying straightrazors. I'll put those rolls towards the Dustman guard who's left. Him and the axebeak.
Combined, Thaka, Dag, and KT do enough to drop the Dustman in round 6.
Axebeak in round 7 fails to impress. Dag, there's a critical fumble on you and a miss.
Labels: axebeak, big fail, what the fuck is up with that fluffy eagle picture below?
I posted my rolls in TT by accident. I missed 2x on axebeak.
Round 5 Swinging on the boy half of Siamese dust twin:
BR 7 (hits AC--nevermind)
BR 12 (yeah... same story)
Round 6 again on aforementioned siamese freakshow sideact:
BR 4 (shite!)
BR16 for 7 (BR5 +2) --FINALLY!
Rob, just so I am sure, the only things left standing are one half of a siamese twin dustperson, an axebeak, and unless Thak dropped him, a pretty wounded standard dustman. Right?
Labels: bald eagle, jessica simpson, john mayer, suck balls
on the fumble. hit ac 5 for 6.
attack on the dustman a 20 for 16 with longsword and another 20 for another 16. that should do him, so I'll attack with the flail on ole axebeak, does he stay around after we decapitate the guy who summoned him? hit ac 3 for 6.
round 7, well we'll see.
Labels: bald eagle, shame
According to my PH, my 5 strength means that I can't move for 2 turns.
Shooting the dustman:
BR 1 (BR 7).
BR 18 hits for 5 pts.
BR 11 (hits AC 7) for 6 pts.
BR 8 (hits AC 10) for 4 pts.
Big Combat, Into Rounds 5 & 6
Nope Thren, you dropped a hp from round 2 to round 3 since no one bandaged you or did anything. In the posted round hps, I didn't deduct- partially I forgot, partially I was waiting to see if/when you'd be cured. It happened in round 3, at which point you were actually at -3 hp.
5 goodberries eaten.
The boy is still invisible, since he hasn't yet attacked. He drops a Monster Summoning II, bringing in an axebeak! Still invisible. Thaka and Thren miss some- more than they think- meaning they hit less than they think. Thaka, axebeak kicks you twice, missing with a pair of deuces. You get magic missiled for 7 right before you & Thren tag-team the boy wonder and decimate him. Dustman clocks you for 3. Axebeak kicks you for 4. Dustman critical fumbles on you.
That's me through round 6. There's a full Dustman and an Axebeak up. Web spell dissipates. Go.

Whaddya mean I haven't made the jump? I've been unconcious, dude, and I just stood up. How we doing? Oh, I see. about the same as always. Gotcha - I know what to do.
And Rob - I'm not sure I'm agreeing with your mathematics there. I was at -2, I get 7 back. That adds up to 5 hp, by my figuring.
And - you know - I am a Professional Mathematician.
Pheer my 1337 ski1z, yo.
Anyway. I pop 5 goodberries and pop this bitch. BR 16 and 2, for one hit. 6 points damage.
Then - whatever the next round is - I fire again at someone who's up and active. BR 12 and 14 - hits AC 2 and 0, for 4 and 5 points respectively. Then we'll see.
We'll see about a damn SPELLBOOK is what we'll see about, bi-yatch! No motherfucker gonna break my stride.
No dope-ass bitch gonna slow my ass down, either. Shee-it.
Web save, BR:2. Ick, sticky.
I chill out.
It seems Threnody and Azoth haven't made the leap into DiD 2.0 just yet. No emails telling me they've got problems...
miss on the fumble.
attack the Boy as he seems in charge here.
round 5 eh? longsword hits ac 8 for 9 flail hits ac 3 for 6.
You're Going Back To The Bronze Age
Yikes, you shoot the... girl in the mouth and she dies. The boy twin gets really mad and orders the Dustman to kick your ass back to ANCIENT EGYPT.

BR 20, BR (6+2) x 2 = 16. SNAP BITCHES. I blast one of the Siamese heads.
BR 1 (BR 17). Is it just me or does RNG seem to love 20's and then 1's.
Big Combat, Round 4
Tut, you're saving against the web spell, just a few posts down. Save made and cure goes off.
Dag and Thak, you finish off the Dustman in round 3.
Coming up, the twins Charm their other Dustman back onto their side, and drop an Invisibility on themselves. Dustman goes at Thaka. Great, critical fumble.
That's round 4, people...
I forget what I am saving against. Here are some random saves: 14, 16, 8.
Last CLW on Thren BR 7.
save is an 18, don't think so.
round 3 attacks Longsword 17 for 6 on whoever tried to web me, flail hit ac 5 for 4.
I also eat my betterberries for 8 hp of healing.
round 4 attacks Longsword hit ac 5 and 1 for 5 and 6, flail hit ac 6 for 5.
Save vs. Web - BR 15 Booyah Spidey!
Swinging on wounded Dustcrusty
BR15 for 7 (BR5 +2)
BR20 [oh hells yes!] for 16 (BR6 +2 x2)
Next round (still on wounded dude unless he is down, then I move to the twins)
BR 9 miss I am sure
BR 2... ooof.
yeah... uh... awesome!
Big Combat Round 2 Update, And Into Round 3
Tut, you know how combat goes. Slowly. It's not an easy problem to solve, or necessarily soluble: one player posts a lot, multiple combat rounds. Another person posts once a week. The rat fight worked so well because it was essentially six independent combats. This ain't.
There've been times when a single combat took a couple weeks. Hopefully this won't be that.
I get some pretty good coffee from this Italian restaurant that has great brunch on the weekends. Not seeing Super Bowl, but I watched a lot of college football bowl game highlights. The Fiesta Bowl was fucking crazy, what a great finish. Boise State? Who knew?
Theo, you kill the Dustman with your powerful arrow! Just kidding. Dink.
Dag, nice strong beginning. The Dustman is looking bad. Wow that guy has a lot- er, had a lot- of hp.
Coming into round 3 people. Two spells go off- a Web, so everyone make a save to avoid being caught in the damn web. And another magic missile at the Spiderbot. It powers down.
KT, whether or not you connect in those posted rolls depends on your saves...
