No traps in the jungle or at the expansive front porch of the jungle house.
Getting closer, you see that the 'jungle house' might really be two buildings... one at the foot of a cliff, the other a 'lookout' bungalow or something 100 feet overhead, built into the branches of a massive banyan tree.
The door is latched, but you are able to undo it and slip into the building at the cliff base, lighting a lamp so that you can see.

This was once an expensive, impressive place. The floor is tiled black-and-white marble, and the remains of a chandelier sit in a pile on the floor. It hasn't been taken care of in some time... ivy, vines, and other plants cover the outside and seem to have infiltrated the interior as well.
A few rooms lead off, revealing nothing. A doorway leads deeper into the place, apparently built into a cave (yet still inside the house) in the cliff.
A beautiful spiral staircase leads up and down. You try down first, as down continues the black-and-white tiling.
Going down just a few steps, you come to a plain metal door. Completely metal, and sealed tight. A single glyph- a Bird of Paradise over some simple rune- decorates the portal. Huh.
Upstairs, winding up for a ways, you come to a plain wooden door on the way up. Locked w/ standard keyhole.
The stairs continues up to the top, opening to sunshine. A rope bridge leads over to the jungle lookout house in the tree. A path heads over to the top of the cliff, upon which sits a sundial and a telescope.
Clouds pass over the sun, darkening the cliff top here. The island is quiet.
