Short recap (04/19/05)
“B3: THE SECRET OF GRITO”
-Gnomes surprise PCs on the road to Grito. Mark and Mike hit for 3 hp, Ed Magic Missiled for 4 hp. Mark and Mike kill gnomes, one gnome fighter escapes. Head to town.
-Enter Grito, pay tax. Mark talks to guard. Sell some equipment and get a room at the Griffon’s Claw.
-Dave throws a 200gp party and special trains, becoming a Man of the People. Vrill and the Mayor visit at the end and disapprove. Mark goes to the potion guild and meets Vrill again, who tries to Charm Person him into buying potions. He succeeds.
-Owlbear attack on Grito. Ed and Dave charge up. Owlbears turn on Dave. Mark dumps Griffon stink on Dave and drinks the rainbow hues potion. Ed, Dave, and Mark manage to kill an owlbear. Then the guards with Mayor Broderick and Gregory Vrill show up and take away the other owlbear, and invite the PCs to Town Hall.
“B2: DESCENT INTO THE DEPTHS”
-(Wizard summons skeleton, Ed went down stairs, double damaged by skeleton for 14 hp)
-Mark cast PFE, went down stairs, met skeleton and wizard
-Mike and Dave go down stairs, Mark kills wizard, skeleton disappears
-Mark searched wizard, Dave heals Mark, Mike searches for secret doors
-Mike finds trap, Mark finds 5 gp, 7 sp, light blue potion (of polymorph), Dave heals Ed
-Mark gives Dave 7 sp and gives Ed the potion, Mike sets off poison needle and fails save
-Dave heals Ed, Mark opens south door, Mike cuts off finger
-Ed sneaks into fountain room and backstabs one kobold.
-Mark, Dave, and Mike charge into the fountain room. Mark kills kobold, kobold hits Mark, Dave wounds kobold, hidden kobold archer shoots Dave.
-Mike trades his severed finger to a kobold for 5 g.p. Ed bites kobold three, killing it. Mark curses kobold. Dave misses kobold and summons his god Odin, who kills the kobold and charges Dave to destroy the statue. Odin splits.
-Mike fills flask and pours it on statue, Mark attacks a dead kobold, Dave shoves the statue and attacks it to no avail, Ed loots kobolds and hides in shadows. Mark casts light on a spear, goes west.
-Mark takes scrolls and candle. Mike eats offal, sleeps, dreams about statue and five-and-dime man, “James”, owes Mike 10 gp. Ed scratches scratch ticket, 4/4/3, worth 20 gp.
-Mark bashes open trapdoor. Ed lights torch and hands it to Dave; PCs go down ladder.
-Mike makes anagrams for Rebuss god of anagrams. Dave casts Bless, grabs polearm, smashes statue. Door opens, kobold master and owlbear charge out, kobold uses wand to turn ground to sludge.
-Mike, uh, attacks the owlbear. Ed sneaks up to kobold master. Owlbear hugs Mark for 6 hp, kobold master casts a spell, dazing Dave.
-Ed backstabs owlbear for 10 hp. Mark groins owlbear for 4 hp and escapes hug. Owlbear slams Ed for 7 hp. Kobold master Potion of Fire Breaths Ed for 6 hp. Dave casts Summon Monster to get a Celestial Fox, who bites the kobold for 2 hp. Kobold master casts PFE.
-Dave cures Ed for 5. Owlbear roundhouses Mike for 10 hp. Ed backstabs owlbear again for 6. Kobold transmutes mud to rock! Mark kills owlbear.
-Dave bandages Ed. Mark blinds kobold with Light spell. Ed fires on kobold, hitting once for 1 hp. Kobold double damages Mark for 8 hp. Mark bandages Ed, Dave kills kobold master.
-Everyone rests, then go back to Grito.
